Made to measure for a civil wedding ceremony and many compliments were received for her gown. Detail shows front knotwork designed from scratch for this outfit, back detail can be seen on the what is a corset? page. There is a large applique on the back hem of the skirt too which is unfortunately at the wrong angle to see. Bone channels are hidden on this piece for the simpler sleek lines the bride wished for. Black Leatherette ![]() Front Black Leatherette ![]() Back Harmony's Black Corset This is Haromony, a BBW (big beautiful woman) with a spinal curvature that twists and slants her body, she'll be listed in my case studies section. The corset is specially made and fitted to her very unique shape and made in sturdy black leatherette over a carefully chosen thick base layer. Most of the bones are spiral wires for comfort but the 2 frontmost bones are wide flat sprung steel as are 2 of the side front bones - this gives ultimate support for Harmony's hefty bosom. After several months of hard wearing this work of engineering is still performing great and looking like new. Harmony has received so many compliments in this corset - it is a real attention grabber! As Harmony is currently losing weight this and her subsequent corsets were constructed so they can be taken in at a later date with minimum effort and fabric scarring. Not only can a corset made for any size and shape as this shows, but each corset she has had made since is at a pleasantly reduced price as the first one was fitted to her and the pattern kept for future use. Back view ![]() Wedding Gown & Bridesmaid's outfits This was my own wedding in September 2007. My outfit comprises of an Ivory duchess satin corset with open V shaped lacing down the back, decorative front lacing and off the shoulder medieval sleeves in crystal organza. The skirt is full with a train and has a crystal organza overlay, gathered up in places and secured with organza ribbons. The corset bodice was lined with peach coutil which gave the Ivory satin a warm glow. Spiral wire bones were used throughout, with sprung steel bones at the centre back. My back has a spinal curvature that gives it a sharp concave shape at waist level and makes fitting a corset difficult, and one of the reasons I made my own wedding dress. Bridesmaids ![]() All in black satin waist cinchers My bridesmaids consisted of three teenagers aged 14-17 years old and one adult in her 20's. The teenagers had never worn corsets before and were very excited. I made each cincher comfortable with spiral wires, and easy to put on with a front busk. Only the adult's cincher was tight laced as she had worn corsetry many times before. The dresses are simple medieval styling, off the shoulder with flattering bell sleeves.
